DAVID BOOTH
During Booth's career at Peoria Manual, he helped the school to Class AA basketball tournaments in 1986, 1987 and 1988. He was all-tourney in `88.
It should be noted that he was a star on the `87 team that finished 26-0 and number one in the state going into tournament play. That team was 61-59 upset victim at the hands of Quincy in overtime. The Rams came back to capture 3rd place in 1988.
Had his career ended there, David Booth would be a sports icon in this town. He was the leader in bringing the 4-on-4 tournament to town where it has played since the `80s.
But, David continued his education and his career at DePaul University where he became
the Blue Demon's 2nd highest career scorer. He also holds a career 4th place in career rebounds and 6th place in steals.
After obtaining his degree, Booth completed a 13-year pro career, playing in 18 countries on 4 continents. David and his family reside in Memphis where David is currently a scout for the Grizzlies..
